Although there are a variety of reasons a person would rather use natural and home remedies versus medical prescriptions, there is usually one common denominator, which is generally cost or safety.

Treating a urinary tract infection naturally, is often the first choice among many individuals. However, there are some minor mistakes that are made with natural treatments. Usually, these mistakes are made by uneducated individuals that merely do not know exactly how to treat their UTI naturally.

The most common natural treatment of a urinary tract infection is with cranberry juice. Although this is among the best ways to naturally treat a UTI, it is often done incorrectly. More likely than not, an individual will purchase cranberry juice and never look at the label. When using cranberry juice as your method of treatment you need to make sure you are drinking unsweetened cranberry juice and not the commercial sweetened cranberry juice.

Blueberry juice
is another one of the popular home remedies or natural remedies for urinary tract infections. Again, just as the cranberry juice, blueberry juice needs to be consumed unsweetened. When using either blueberry or cranberry juice to treat a UTI you should drink about 3-5 8 ounce glasses of the unsweetened beverage a day.

Water is also crucial in ridding the body of a urinary tract infection. Although, water is also important for your overall heath. You should drink, on average 1 8 ounce glass of water ever hour that you are awake. If you are exercising or the heat is causing you to sweat you should increase your water intake to replenish the water that has been lost.

Pay attention to the foods and drinks you are putting into your body. Most of us do not realize that the foods and beverages we consume can decrease our health and increase the growth of harmful bacteria. You should avoid sugars, fats, caffeine and alcohol. Instead, increase your water soluble foods; such as fresh fruits and veggies.

Before you begin using the best natural cures for UTI, you should consult your doctor. It is important that your doctor gives you the approval to begin modifying your diet before you do. It is possible that modifying your diet in any way can negatively impact your other medical conditions. Your doctor should also be able to point you in the right direction to naturally treat your UTI.

I am clueless in this department…
